When an accident occurs in an induction melting furnace , it should be handled calmly, correctly, so as not to expand the accident and reduce the scope of influence. 

A, power failure of induction melting furnace   

Power outages were caused by accidents such as overcurrent, grounding in the power supply network, or by the induction melting furnace  itself. 

When the control circuit and the main circuit are connected to the same intermediate frequency power supply , the control circuit water pump also stops working. If the water in the induction coil is stopped for more than 3min ~ 5min, the coil insulation will be damaged and an accident will occur. To this end, several measures must be taken in advance during design: 

1) Urban (tap water) water supply; 

2) High water tank water; 

3) Water for gasoline engine driven water pump or battery powered DC motor driven water pump; 

4) The power supply of the water supply pump should have two sets of lines (one of which should have a relatively stable line). In the open cooling water circulation system, the first two standby water sources are commonly used, and in the closed cooling circulation system, the third standby water source is commonly used. But no matter what kind of circulation method, the fourth must be done. 

5) Due to the power failure, the power supply of the induction coil is also stopped at this time. Therefore, the water flow in the induction coil at this time only needs 20% to 30% of the water supply during normal power supply. To consider. 

6) Within 1h of the power failure time, the metal surface can be covered with charcoal to prevent heat dissipation and wait for power to continue. Generally, no other measures are necessary, and the temperature drop of the molten metal is limited. 

7) When the power failure time is more than 1h, the metal liquid of the small-capacity electric furnace may solidify. The solidification of the metal liquid in the crucible will restrict the shrinkage of the furnace lining and cause cracks in the furnace lining.

This should try to prevent the metal liquid from solidifying in the crucible. It is best to switch the power of the oil pump to a backup power source when the metal liquid is still fluid, or use a manual backup pump to pour out the metal liquid. → The design should consider a pit for storing molten iron. The blast furnace platform should be directly made into a grid. For the low furnace platform, because the pit needs to store slag, another iron pit should be stored on the ground. Pit, because there is no need to transport the molten iron again. 

8) A power failure occurred during the start of melting of the cold charge, and the charge has not completely melted, so it is not necessary to pour out the furnace. It can be left in the original state, but it needs to continue to pass water and wait for power to start melting again. 

B, leakage from induction melting furnace 

Liquid leakage accidents can easily cause equipment damage and even endanger people. Therefore, it is necessary to do as much as possible to maintain and maintain the electric furnace in order to avoid leakage accidents. 

1) When the alarm bell of the alarm device sounds, immediately cut off the power, inspect the surroundings of the furnace, and check whether the metal solution has leaked. If there is leakage, immediately pour the furnace to empty the molten metal. If there is no leakage, check and deal with the leakage alarm inspection procedure. If it is confirmed that the metal solution leaks from the furnace lining and touches the electrode to cause an alarm, the metal liquid should be emptied, repaired or rebuilt. 

2) The furnace leakage is caused by the damage of the furnace lining. The thinner the thickness of the furnace lining, the higher the electrical efficiency and the faster the melting speed. However, when the thickness of the furnace lining is less than 1/3 of the original thickness, at this time, almost the entire thickness of the furnace lining is a hard sintered layer and a transition layer. There is no loose layer, and the furnace lining is slightly cracked when it is rapidly cooled and heated. The crack can crack the entire interior of the furnace lining, and it is easy for the molten metal to leak out. 

3) Unreasonable furnace building, oven, sintering methods, or improper selection of furnace lining materials will cause furnace leakage during the first melting . 

C, Induction melting furnace cooling water accident 

1) High cooling water temperature is generally caused by the following reasons: 

a. Foreign matter is blocked in the sensor cooling water pipe, and the flow of water is reduced. At this time, it is necessary to cut off the power, and use compressed air to blow the water pipe to remove foreign objects (the pump stop time should not exceed 3min). 

b. There is scale in the coil cooling water channel. Depending on the quality of the cooling water, the coil waterway must be acid-washed every 1 to 2 years, and the hose should be removed every six months to check the scale. If there is obvious scale clogging in the water course, pickling is required in advance. 

2) The sensor water pipe suddenly leaks. The cause of water leakage is mostly due to the insulation breakdown of the yoke or the surrounding fixed bracket by the inductor . When this accident is found, immediately cut off the power and strengthen the insulation treatment of the breakdown. At present, the best effect is TSC-L ultra-high temperature insulation paint, because it can withstand 750 ° high temperature, which guarantees the severe working conditions of the induction melting furnace The lower insulation paint will not lose its insulation performance due to high temperature carbonization, thereby effectively preventing breakdown caused by fire. Once the copper tube is broken down, the surface of the leak should be sealed with FCAR copper crack fast repair agent to reduce the voltage. The furnace charge is emptied and the hot metal is emptied before repairing the furnace. If the coil water channel is penetrated in a large area, it is impossible to temporarily seal the leaky gap with FCAR copper crack fast repairing agent, and the furnace must be stopped, the metal liquid emptied and repaired. In addition: The fixing bolts of the furnace body turret and the furnace frame support need to be checked (tightened) once a week. Due to the periodic tensile stress and shear stress of the bolt when it is tilted and dropped, it is easy to fracture or loosen and accelerate the fracture. In addition to the usual tightening and maintenance, bolts should be made of high-strength materials and replaced once a year.
